If you’re anything like me, you probably put a wee bit too much pressure on yourself to do things perfectly.
I really struggle to check something off, share it or even start it — if I feel like it isn’t quite up to the standard I’ve set.
But this year, I’ve decided that I want to try something new.
I want to shift my mindset just a tad — away from the need to be perfect and toward the desire to be intentional.
We say it a lot around here — how much we value, appreciate and seek to serve with intention. This is the year that I really want to bring greater focus to that.
Because while I’m a perfectionist, I’m also quite keen on having a plan, being thoughtful and doing things that matter in a way that matters.
So I’m not going to make any promises here, but I do hope to be more faithful in writing to you as a way of showing up more intentionally this year. Would you like that? Comment below and tell me all the things you’d love to read here in Le Journal.
I’ve also mapped out our content for the entire quarter — ahead of time — which I’ve honestly, never done before out of sheer exhaustion and lack of time to spend on my own business (anyone else relate?).
For the first time in a long while, I’m actually excited about what we have to share. I am trying out a bit of a new approach on Instagram in particular and am planning to share more of what simply feels good to share — not needing it to always sell or always educate, but simply making an effort to use the space more, well, on purpose. From the heart.
In the meantime, I spent some time earlier this week working on our yearly vision board — not really a list of resolutions, but a bit of personal visual direction and inspiration for the year. Some really important ones — like going on more walks by the lake with Luca — to some less important, but fun ones — like learning to layer clothes like a Parisian. Have a wee look here:
